New owner takes over two Cincinnati music festivals - Cincinnati Business Courier

Columbus-based concert promoter PromoWest Productions is taking over the Bunbury and Buckle Up music festivals in Cincinnati.

The promoter purchased the festivals for an undisclosed sum. PromoWest owns four concert venues - LC Pavilion, Newport Music Hall, The Basement and A&R Music Bar - in Columbus and Stage AE in Pittsburgh.

'We are excited to expand into the Cincinnati market. We have strong relationships with the bands that play Bunbury as they play our venues throughout the year,' PromoWest CEO Scott Stienecker said in a blog.

PromoWest will handle booking, marketing, sponsorship and production of the festivals, but founder Bill Donabedian will continue to oversee operations.

Ticketing for both festivals will now be handled through Ticketmaster, but 2015 Bunbury tickets purchased through ShowClix will continue to be honored at the front gate.

Bunbury has been staged at Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove since 2012 and has hosted artists such as Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, The National, Manchester Orchestra, Weezer and Yo La Tengo. While the festival previously had one main stage and five smaller stages, PromoWest will change the format to two main stages and two side stages. The 2015 Bunbury festival will be June 5-7.

Buckle Up Music Festival launched this year and featured The Band Perry, Willie Nelson and Alabama. The festival took place at Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove but will relocate to Summit Park in Blue Ash for 2016. The 2015 festival has been canceled because of the move.
