Tortuga Music Festival 2015: Advance tickets on sale Friday - SouthFlorida.com (blog)

Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday for Rock The Ocean's third annual Tortuga Music Festival, the two-day party dedicated to live music and ocean life conservation April 11-12 on Fort Lauderdale beach.

The early-bird tickets are $139 for a two-day pass ($579 for two-day VIP and $979 for Super VIP), available at TortugaMusicFestival.com and by calling 877-987-6487. Prices are in line with last year's early-bird ticket offer: $145, $599 and $999.

The price for single-day tickets that went on sale two weeks before Tortuga 2014 were $89, with two-day passes starting at $165.

The early-bird ticket offer, announced Tuesday morning, is an article of faith: No performers have been named for Tortuga 2015.

But in its first two years the festival has brought in a solid lineup of country, blues, pop and indie-rock performers, including Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Jake Owen, Dierks Bentley, Sheryl Crow, Train, Brantley Gilbert, Grace Potter, the Avett Brothers, Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, Ziggy Marley and Slightly Stoopid.

The festival is a production of the Rock the Ocean Foundation, the brainchild of Nashville music veteran and former Fort Lauderdale resident and diver Chris Stacey, and HUKA Entertainment, which also handles the popular Hangout Music Festival and the Concerts for the Coast series featuring Jimmy Buffett, Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley.

The festival also supports marine research and conservation, taking its name from the sea turtles that nest annually along the South Florida coast. Three stages of music surround the festival's Conservation Village, curated by Stacey, offering interactive, educational experiences from such organizations as the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, Shark Savers, Sea Turtle Oversight Protection, Florida Fishing Academy and Bonefish Tarpon Trust.
