The inaugural Al Berard Music Festival will be held on November 29 at the Hendry Guidry Memorial Park in Henderson and will benefit the Al Berard Memorial Music Fund, a fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA).

The festival will feature live music from Basin Brothers, Bonsoir Catin, Roddie Romero, NIK-L Beer, Sweet Cecilia and many more. There will be a live and a silent auction, food and beverages, face painting, camper spots and more. The festival will also serve as the official CD release party for Al Berard's long-awaited guitar album titled 'Incredible Journey'.

Laura Huval, daughter of Al Berard, is organizing the music festival and is currently seeking both monetary and in-kind sponsorships, donations and auction items. Sponsorships range from $1,000 to $10,000 and include benefits such as admission tickets to the festival, VIP Parking Passes, backstage musician passes and much more.

Huval said, 'This music festival is very important for my family as it will honor my father's legacy and will help us raise funds for the Al Berard Memorial Music Fund to continue his legacy across Acadiana.'

The Al Berard Memorial Music Fund promotes Acadiana's unique musical culture by providing instruments, master teachers and music scholarships to students of all ages. The fund honors the life of the late Cajun musician, Al Berard, who was a pillar of his community and a mentor for music lovers everywhere. His passion was to teach everyone he met about his love for music and for the Cajun/Creole culture.

The Al Berard Memorial Music Fund, like Al himself, believes that music is the universal language of the world and can transform and enrich our souls. Al once said, 'Many different styles of music come from my area, and I realize how blessed I am to get to play with so many incredible musicians. Playing music has been my life and my journey has been incredible.'

If you would like sponsor the festival or receive more information, please contact Laura Huval at grandansefiddle@gmail.com or visit www.AlBerard.com. If you would like to reserve a camper spot for the festival, please contact Susan Blanchard at sblanchard80@yahoo.com.
