Woman, 31, dies at BoomTown Fair music festival

A 31-year-old woman has died after being found unconscious at the campsite of a music festival in Hampshire.

Medical staff were called to a toilet block at the BoomTown Fair site near Winchester, at 14:00 BST on Saturday.

A woman was taken to hospital but she later died.

Police cordoned off the toilet block while investigations were carried out. A spokesman said it was too early to speculate on the cause of death but it was not being treated as suspicious.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

A spokesman for BoomTown Fair said: 'Our thoughts are with all her loved ones at this tragic time and the festival is doing all it can to assist those involved.'

The festival is now in its sixth year. Up to 38,000 people attend the four-day event at Matterley Bowl near Winchester.
