Avondale Music and Arts Festival kicks off tonight


The Avondale Music and Arts Festival plans to begin tonight in the Avondale Business District and last through the weekend.


The event will be sponsored by the 5 th Annual Birmingham Arts and Music Festival and will center the major events at notable businesses in the area. Several events will be featured during the three-day festival, including an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the World's Longest Soul Train Line.


Those in attendance can expect live music from Alabama musical acts and art events from area youth and local artists. One music event in particular will be a musical tribute to the legends of Muscle Shoals.


Highlights from the weekend will include: Guinness Book of World Records Attempt at the World's Longest Soul Train Line August 15, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Avondale Park. TEDxBirmingham Salon, August 16, 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at Bottletree Café. Birmingham Celebrity Jeopardy August 17, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Avondale Brewery. Individual dates and times:

Aug 16, 2014: 3 p.m. to 12 a.m.
